The two obvious meanings of that word is:

1. It is the past tense of think
(I thought there were no classes today.)
2. It is an abstract noun that means the object thought about.
(What's your thought on the given topic)

a chain of mental concepts strung together in logical order.

It's purpose is to deal with life's challenges e.g. how to word a sentence when ordering a modern cup of coffee at starbucks or such.

Sometimes opposing and contrasting chains are compared in an attempt of the mind to select the better course of action represented by either proposition each chain represents.

Don't try to define thought. Its nature is "shapeless".
Don't think! But imagine and create!

Thought is not good, because it's "clear".
Unconsciousness is good, because it's chaos and disorder.
It seems bad to believe that unconscious it better than intellect (i.e not to know is better than to know the definition of thought); but if you know the definition of something which you should not know, you will lose your naturalness and childishness.

Why you should not know something? Because a child does not know many things, that's why it's shameless. And you want to be shy?
