Hi i understand where you are coming from people are too layed back these days and wait until any problem is right on top of them before they get of their lazy butts to do anything about a situation, i used to take my babies every week to be weighed at the health center and listen to any advice to help with my babies well being , not these days it takes an effort for people to do a lot of things

I have one child and I call the pediatrician at the slightest sign of a cold. If she coughs, I'm on the phone. Well I'm not really that diligant now but i was when she was first born. She has gone to all her scheduled appointments and has had 1 sick appointment because I thought she might have an ear infection (turned out to be just teething symptoms). She's only had a cold once which I called the doctor for and she told me to give her lots of fluids and to wait a couple days to see if it would clear up (which it did). All her immunizations are up to date. I make sure my child has regular doctors appointments because her health is the most important thing. You know what they say: If you dont have your health, you dont have anything.

Teach your kids not to drink, smoke, use drugs, or have sex outside of wedlock. This will take away many doctor visits.
Also, feed them healthy foods, especially vitamins, teach them not to overeat, and exercise regularly. This will also take away many doctor visits.
Teach them to be kind to others so that they do not get into fights and to use reasonable caution in their free time hobbies, like wearing a helmet on a bike ramp if you use one, etc. This takes away still more doctor visits.
Remember that the health industry profits when they medicate you. They do not profit when they stop medicating you. For this reason, I do not trust the health industry and very seldom go to to the doctor, except for yearly physicals and occasionally when I get sick. Also, when I first started getting allergy shots at five years old, the serum they used could have been lethal. When I switched allergy doctors, they changed the serum immediately for this reason. I've also heard that vaccines could contribute to SIDS, but I don't know if that's accurate or not. If and when I have kids, I'll definitely research that further.
Yes, lots of parents take their kids to the doctor, especially if they have insurance. Those without it have a tough time affording it. In any case, take care of your body so you can minimize visits to the doctor's office.

No my baby is 2 months old and he has already been to the doctor 3 times. He will be going back tomorrow which will make it the 5th because he has a cold and his breathing is raspy.

Nope. I take my kids for every appointment they've had for their shots, check ups and yearly check ups. I want to make sure that my kids are in good health and on track. It's part of being a parent.

Nope, we just had a well baby check last week, and the next one is in two months. And judging by the full waiting room at the doc's office its not just you and me either.
