pc is was infected with a worm but i deleted the infected file with avg anti virus

my internet explorer was affected it goes to this site http://quicknews.info/ everytime i open it and i can't change the homepage the setting won't let me change it

help me.....

got this worm from yahoo messenger one of my contacts was infected and i got infected too as well as my other contacts

spybot doesn't work..... its still there

the site says that if i giv e them my email they wil tell me how to remove this problem do you think i should trust them

Download Internet Explorer again...and use the installer to repair IE....

Another option is to download Mozilla Firefox...and not worry about IE anymore....

There is a file named IE.INF in the \windows\INF folder. There should only be one, so do a search of your hard drive, I would be checking file dates by using properties if there is more than one. When your satisfied the one in the INF folder is the right one, right click it and select install. Then reboot your computer. this resets all the default values in Internet Explorer. If you still have the problems you described (can't change default web page) here is the fix at Microsoft.

Open C drive > System Files, and see if it's in there. If it is delete it from there. Also delete history and cookies.

Reinstall IE or do system restore if you have Windows XP

to remove download spybot http://dw.com.com/redir?pid=10401314&merid=104443&mfgid=104443 and update it
finally start scan it will solve ur problem
