The first step in recovering from an addiction is to own up and recognize that something is wrong, and this you've done. Now onto the next step do you want to STOP? If you do then look at why you want to stop:
Is it causing any pain, suffering or detrimental to your health? I guess you already know the answers yourself:
1. You can straighten your hair but not very often at least wait
6 weeks in between.
2. Make sure you steam your hair at least twice per month
3. Cut dead end off at times of steaming.
4. Use a good Shampoo and Conditioner.
Remember Straightening your hair too often can lead to breakage and lost of hair (baldness). If every thing fails you might need to think of cutting your hair very short and leaving it natural. Good luck my sister.

No problem in doing so. I feel that some times you fee that you are doing something wrong but it is not like so. straiting of hairs give a good look. In my opinion you are not putting any oil in your hairs and this is forcing you to do so very often. Hence, you are advised to put some oil or hair cream so that every time you need do so.

Too bad you're not addicted to spelling. I don't really think straightening your hair can be addictive. Just stop. Maybe you need a trip to the salon for a new hair style so you don't feel you need to straighten it all the time.

Too bad. Your hair is going to break easier and easier and your next haircut will be quite short. Or you could just deal with long split ended hair.
