This is of course up to you. I would say that 8 weeks is a decent amount of time. It is very hard to continue keeping such a secret. Our first pregnancy we kept a secret for many many weeks just for fun. It was nice to know that we had this great secret. This time (I'm 6 wks) I can hardly hold it in and my husband wants to wait. If you get sick alot, it is very hard not to raise suspicion.. specially in a mom or sibling!
You may want to consider bringing up this point that a friend of mine told me... she had a scare in the pregnancy before she had told anyone about it and once she was sitting in the Dr.s office waiting all alone, she realized that if she did lose the baby this late, she would want the support of her family and friends anyway. So she wished she had told them.... Everything turned out fine by the way and she has a healthy baby girl now!

This is such a personal decision that you and your husband have to make. For me, there was no way I could wait to tell my closest family and friends. We told our parents, siblings and a few friends right away.I am no good at keeping secrets, outside of those closest to me, I waited until after I saw the baby's heartbeat on the initial sonogram at my first prenatal appointment. There was no way I was waiting those three months like so many people do.

Tell around 3-4 months to friends, maybe 2-3 for close family and maybe really close friends. (Try telling around mother's day, make it a joke.) I told everybody right when I found out three weeks ago, and now I am not sure if I still am. (If they ask you why you aren't coming to parties, just say you are trying.) - a lot of people wait until they know what they're having (you can find out at 4-6 months) and send out baby announcements

my husband was the same way with all 3 of our children. i would recommend that the two of you talk it out and come to an agreement. also, you don't have to cancel invites. go anyways and have a good time but do the right thing and make everything virgin.

Tell them now. Have you lost one before? Either way
you can use their support for good or bad.
