The full moon and new moon have the strongest gravitational pull on the earth at it's point.

It is interesting to note that the biggest attraction is during the new moon on animals, and the best hunting and fishing is during the new moon.
On the other hand the full moon makes the tide rise higher, and more human babies are born than normal.

But still the full moon is so romantic! I wonder why? lol

During a full moon is the best time to view the amazing system of rays of the crater Tycho, which is found in the southern hemisphere. It's rays (the lines that extend out from the crater) are up to 1,500 km long.

The "Blue" moon occurs when there are 2 full moon cycles in any one month, the second being the "Blue" moon because it happens so seldom 29.5 days between full moons and there are only 30.5 days between months---so the concensus that you would have 2 full moons in any one month are phenominal! Hence the expression of rarity is "only once in a blue moon".

There is no correlation between a full moon and an increase in criminal or any other activity, except perhaps making out.

Due to the gravitational pull of the moon, you actually weigh less when a full moon is occuring. =P

it appears to be bigger than it is, close your hand till you can barely see, or fit a quarter and look at the moon it will appear the normal size
