Oh gee, I don't know how I can explain this on a blog, it's sort of hard. It's done in a series of 2 steps (1 forward, 1 back), then three steps sort of together, then repeat. The step work is easy to learn, it's the arm motions that made the dance really work. Part of the arm motions were turning around and sort of grabing at each other's hards as you passed around. Then there was putting your arms over your heads, and sort of sliding them over your heads, then having them come down and sort of grab at each others hands and do a turn.
Best idea is watch Saturday Night Fever. I can do the Hustle very well, but obviously can't really describe it on paper/computer.
I don't know if I've helped at all. Watch the movie, it will show you how the hustle was really supposed to be done, back in my day.,
Or, if you want to learn, I'm sure there are still places that teach it. It was one fun dance. But not all that easy to learn.

Actually it can be kind of fun. There are several, but three-count hustle is pretty simple and there's probably a dance studio near you that can teach you if you decide you're more serious about your question than you think you are. There's a rock step, side step, side step pattern to it, with 4 steps taken on 3 counts.
