You're not supposed to, and at some point in your largeness it would be uncomfortable. You're supposed to start sleeping on your side only at 15 weeks. That's right, you can't sleep on your back. either, because there are important blood vessels in your back that your uterus and baby can all back on and cut off circulations...which is dangerous for you both. After the 15th week, you're really supposed to sleep on your left side because it's best for circulation...but that doesn't mean everyone does.

You can sleep on your stomach until about 3 months along. I've always slept on my stomach and couldn't imagine not being able to. You learn not to sleep that way for the well being of your child. Now, after two babies, I hardly ever sleep on my stomach.

Yes pregnant women can lay on their stomach but it gets very uncomfortable after you get so far along.

Everyone is different. Some can do it for a lot further into the pregnancy if they aren't too big.
It gets so uncomfortable so quickly and you are conscious of your little person being in there, so it's natural to not want to lie on it anyway.

You can lay on your stomach until it isn't comfortable. As soon as the baby begins to become substantial inside of you, it becomes horribly uncomfortable to crush him or her in anyway, such as bending over to tie your shoes or sleeping on your stomach.
