according to the manual of my PC, maximum of 2 gigabytes of RAM can Install( 2 slots)(DDR), but now my pc have 512 of ram(2x 256) if I try to add another 256 of ram( the other ram change 2 512) then I switch on, my pc restart again and again! I think theres a problem adding ram, but I add same frequency(400).. what is the problem of my pc?

Hi. I think this can happen if the original RAM was running in dual channel mode. Try disabling this in BIOS and try again.

Is this what you are using:PC3200 3200 400MHZ 184PIN DDR RAM? If so that should work if both sticks are correct. You will have to consult your motherboard specs to find the order and compatible sizes for each slot. Off the top of my head, it seems you have purchased the wrong Ram for the 512 stick. Easy enough to check: Try it as the only RAM in the machine.

first, remove the memory and re-seat it, with the 512 in slot one and the 256 in the other slot. then look to see if you may have knocked the cpu fan wire or any wire(s) loose.

If you have two sluts for ram and they are full were did you install the other two? you have two sluts stick 1GB in each and you have 2GB of ram. or two 512 in each you have 1GB.
