My vote would go to Steve Nash. Just when you thought he couldn't improve his game, he does it again. His numbers seem to be even better than last year. He is the cog in the Suns engine, a true leader. He scores when necessary and is always looking to get his teammates involved. Great from the free throw line and reliable from 3 point land.

If kobe continues his tear, he should win it, but i dont think the nba will give it to him, he's been fined so many times lately for stupid sh*t that other players wouldnt....

Nash is going to win, when he was out w/ the injury awhile back, his team had a losing record...He basically averages a double double every game

Dirk is really good but he doesnt handle pressure well, even he said it on ESPN and he isnt usually a 100% of a double double like Nash is everynight,

the guy is like 7 ft, he should be scoring that many points and rebounds, look at the other 7 ftrs in teh league, the around there w/ some exceptions, but as far as point guards, only Jason Kidd can compare to Nash and even this year he cant

Kobe Bryant, becasue if you take him out of the Lakers roster, Lakers will be ranked as 10th in the Western Conference (or even lower0. You take out Nowitzki or Nash, you still teams that can be in the playoff spot without too much hardships. MVP meas most valuable player so it's clear that Kobe is the most valuable player to the team.

Being Canadian I like Nash's chances because when he was out of the lineup, the Suns crashed without him. He just gets better with age. Dirk is a very close second and I wouldn't hesitate to give them co-MVP honors. Kobe has been lighting it up but he has no one else and his team isn't good.

Should Kobe's scoring streak continue along with the team's continuous improvement in winning percentage, he will likely be the MVP.

Other strong candidates would be Steve Nash and Dirk Nowitski.

Dirk should get it. He is the star of the best team in the NBA. He's eleveted his game this year, his defense has improved a lot in the last couple of years. Kobe has better numbers, but Kevin Garnett has some of the best stats year-in and year-out and never gets much attention for it. Lebron's overall stats are amazing. But because he has led his team in an amazing year, I think Dirk should get it.

well I think Nash dropped out of the picture...Dirk Nowitzki has a good chance just because his team is so damn good! He is also a great player but Kobe is on a tear. His team is also winning because of him. I think Kobe may pull and upset of Nash and Nowitzki just because hes not slowing down at all!

I agree with some that say Nash, but when you look at a team you have to look whose team couldn't do without him and how they're doing.

But my vote here may have to go to Kobe Bryant. He seems to carry his team at times and he just seems to have IT.

He just maybe the Jordan of his generation.
