it's thicker at the bottom and thinner at the top,it's almost like a pyramid, if that makes sense. It keeps jamming up when I sew just a few stitches, I don't know what to do, I haven't ever had this problem before

Bobbin Winding Problems

You may be using an inconsistent speed while winding, or too fast altogether. Try to find a happy medium and see if that helps. Another problem with winding too fast is that it stretches the thread and that can cause puckering on silky fabrics.

I sew for a living and I have never, ever adjusted the bobbin tension.

If your bobbin winder is on the top of your machine like mine is, I sometimes encounter this problem also, you can direct the thread as it is winding on the bobbin, like mine sometimes winds at the bottom only, I just slip my finger under thread until the bobbin in evenly wound. Hope this helps.

mine has wound unevenly but that usually doesnt make any difference, just dont let it wind past the edge of the bobbin, make sure you are putting it in right and threading the top right, i discovered mine has to be done exactly the same way all the time , whereas other machines didnt care much which way i put the spool on the spindle. if that doesnt help it may need adjustment at a sewing machine shop. in bloomington indiana that was about 75 dollars, and a new white machine at walmart was 99 dollars , so the next time i just got a new one.

Sounds like maybe the tension on the bobbin winder is not right...I'll usually hold the thread and "help" it along a little if it seems to be winding unevenly...

I'm with the hand guiding people. It's funny because my mom and I have the same machine and hers winds bobbins beautifully but mine wants to make the pyramid. I just nudge the thread up occasionally as it winds.

Sometimes it helps to guide the thread a little when it is winding onto the bobbin so that it is evenly placed.

Before you mess with the tension, check to see that you have the machine threaded properly.
