It takes time to build lasting muscles. The fact that they feel bigger after working out and then returning to normal size is because you haven't been working out long enough for them to really increase. Just keep your workouts going and you will see a difference and more than likely feel better too.

Your body naturally pumps oxegenated blood into muscles when they are working to reduce fatigue. When they have done their work, your body allocates that blood elsewhere.

To make your muscles bigger, you have to put them under stress. They seem to have an elastic memory for what you made them do last time. So you need to keep increasing your load on them to force the body into making them grow otherwise they will stay the same size. Muscles feed on Protein. Eat a high protein diet and load up them weights.

When you stop traning for an extended period, your body metabolises the excess muscle, over months, and they shrink. That is why you can see some world champion weightlifters now look half the size that they once were.

nothing you can do thats normal. when you lift your muscles naturally tense up, causing it to look larger. well they arent larger, that is the max size they can be at that given time. they relax, or return to normal as you put it, once they have rested. even though they arent resting because when you lift your muscles tear and stretch, then heal back stronger....give it time, also a protein supplement in your diet helps as well....
