The best way to try to stop it woul dbe to add 3-4 more large tiger barbs. That may break up the fighting and keep your injured one alive. The only other option is to remove the bully or the injured fish.

Some really good answers on here but the reality is that getting more tiger barbs will help for sure. The bully will still be the bully of the group. You might want to introduce other types of barbs as well like tin foil barbs. Also use other types of distracting fish like giant danios. Those guys never stay still so it makes the barbs take notice all the time especially during feedings.

This sounds strange but buy more, they have a pecking order and do best in schools of 5 or more. The other thing is to try some Danio's or Austraillian Rainbow fish. They are very fast moving and act as what they call a Ditter Fish. That means that Deature the fish in a differant direction from the fish that is being attacked. Hope this helps you,

get at least 5 more tiger barbs. you need a school of at least 8 for them not to fight as bad. make sure your tank is big enough first, as i had some in two small a tank that were forced to jump out by other tiger barbs.

It sounds crazy, but the answer is to add more Tiger Barbs.Probably 5 or 6,this will make the group feel more secure(They are schooling fish),and spread the aggression around to more fish(it's called "dither"). Give it a try. Good luck.-----PeeTee

i think of they are meant to be stored in colleges of 5 or six fish. that is too lots of them in an identical tank. Tiger barbs are additionally aggressive fish; they have an inclination to p.c.. on others. desire this facilitates! :)

Try making a tank seperator out of mesh you find at the cloth store and some wooden poles that are really thin. cut a square of cloth that's slight;y bigger than the side of your tank and measure out the poles and use staples to staple them together and ur done. Hope this helps.

They are being territorial. Re-arrange your aquarium, maybe add a few more plants - they will think they are in a brand new place and each claim their own little space.
