I know this has been asked, my question is not if we are ready in the sense that they are capable.... I think we all believe that a Woman and or African American ( or any other minority for that matter) are certainly capable, and could excel as President... My question is , do you think we have evolved enough as a society for them to win? After all we are not that far removed for lynchings, and the suffrage movement. I wonder how many good ole boys and rednecks regardless of their political views, would vote Republican just to Stop Obama or Clinton from winning?

I do and to take it even further, I think the combination of Clinton/Obama would be unbeatable in '08. A short story, to kind of buttress my thoughts on this. On New Years Eve I attended a union party with my husband, who's a bricklayer. I sat there in a corner later that night, just listening to the guys talk politics over their cigars and shots. I was shocked to my core by how many of them said they would vote for Hillary Clinton. I was already supporting her, but I never expected to hear so many men - especially when I know so many of them are dedicated chauvinists - to say that and then defend their position over the few jeers they received. I think more people are ready for a woman or a black candidate more than some of us are ready to believe. The poll numbers certainly bear it out, and I've been encouraged by the positive remarks I get when I wear my Hillary tshirsts around town while doing errands. There will always be racists and misogynists, and they get noticed because they are often loud and obnoxious. But I really believe we are begin to rise above that in this country.

If Colin Powell ran for President I'd vote for him. I'm glad he resigned from the current administration. He has a lot of integrity and I think he was misled and forced to do a lot of things he dreaded doing.

Condi Rice is almost credible, but sometimes you need a cunning, devious person to run the White House.

But at this stage, George W. Bush has proven himself to be a magnificent failure as a president.

This unique election is not about who is black and who is a woman, It is about who can pull our country out of a huge ugly hole.

There will always be citizens that will never change the color they prefer and some men insist woman should be kept under a controlled thumb. That will never change. This election will go beyond Republicans and Democrats. Americans will vote for the best candidate, more so then any other election.

I'm voting for Ron Paul. I believe the constitution is more important. Not playing racial and/or gender politics. We are in serious trouble people. The root of the problem needs to be dealt with first and foremost. Their political views are moot if they keep feeding the sinister system of things.

Take it from an easily American male, American adult adult males listed here are grasping, conceited, ignorant, self-ordinary, and self-obsessed assholes who choose to dominate anybody in comparison to them. You get this the main from the white adult adult males, those privileged elites who've on no account understood what it rather is choose to be a woman, an African-American, or the different minority group. The white adult adult males have ruled usa for 3 hundred years and that they don't choose to grant that up. They see the certainty that girls are making great progression and advancing in the direction of entire gender equality as a probability to their exalted place as male overlords. do not enable them to fool you with their lies; they don't "love" women, they only love them in the type you "care" for somebody by way of what they are able to do for you, the type you administration their lives, and that's real here. they don't think of of ladies as people, yet gadgets, extraordinarily on the grounds that maximum adult adult males listed here are the main loopy religious fundamentalists on earth. not as undesirable because of the fact the ignorant adult adult males in 0.33 worldwide international locations, yet not by way of a lot. it rather is reached the element the place I hate American adult adult males and that i in basic terms wanna castrate the coolest purchase.

to answer your questions.
Yes, no, all of them.
Now to explain,
I work in as an only white person in the dialysis center, most of the pt are black, some of the people do not like me because I am white they do not trust me and think I am a raciest, because i am white. I get along with all the workers there and they were shocked to find out I can not even touch this one persons machine because he thinks I am a raciest.
There are about 5 pt out of 60 per day that are white, and on the short days there are 2 white people out of 9.
When one of the co-workers was talking to him trying to convince him I was not a raciest, she ask him if he thought i would save his life on the machine if he was dieing...he said oh yeah she would because that is her job, she would do her job.
At this point I do not know what to tell him.
So i say no America is not ready for anything other then a old man in the white house.

I wouldn't vote for Obama or Hillary, but not because of race or gender. i just don't like their positions or platforms. However, I would love to vote for Collin Powell or another black leader - male or female- if i thought he/she could do a better job than the other candidates.

I hope so. I'd like to think we've matured THAT much. If not, then our Country will go into its Golden years in a retarded state...-unable to grow beyond the political views of white, male, Republicans...-or backcountry good ole boys & rednecks.

It does not matter WHO gets elected.Yes the American public is ready for either BUT the election machine will not let that happen.Besides the bar has been set SO LOW with BUSH and all of his deeds while in office and NO ONE calling for a possible impeachment hearing because he is so close to the end of his term in office that the NEXT president will also enjoy carte blanche while in officeThe Republican and Democratic parties are different in the SPELLING of the parties names only.A politician is a politician. We should have a "NONE OF THE ABOVE" choice on our ballots for a true checks and balance of the system of electing our LEADERS.
