Well..the babies fathers nickname is Jay so I was thinking that I want the babies name to start with "Ja" or "Jay" with the "y" silent. I've picked out a great name for the girl...but what if I have a boy? I've thought of a couple boy names for example: JaMont and Jaylin but everybody I talk to says Jaylin is a little feminine for a male. Help!?!?!?!?!!

JaMont because the fathers middle name is LaMont..I'm not aware of any rappers named JaMont..so how could that be a "hip hop" name. Don't stereotype.

I agree that Jaylin is feminine. I don't think that JaMont flows, or just sounds like a name as a matter of fact. Are you very set that you want the name to be a play on his father's? If anything, maybe make it a middle name. I know my Aunt named her latest son with my Uncle Corey's nickname, Story, as their son's middle name. It works much better in my opinion that way.

I like JaMont, but, yes, Jaylin is more feminine. Jalen is the masculine form. Try a baby name site for some more ideas.

JaMont is a very nice name. It is also unique. I made up my daughters name too. I took Samantha & Amanda and combined them to make Samanda..I think you should go with JaMont then when he asks how is name came about you could tell him....

JaMont is a little unusual but if you like it go with it.Jaylin is nice and it is a unisex name so don't worry about other people's opinions. What about Jayden or Jason? Good luck

How about naming a boy Jai or Jae? Jaylin is too feminine.

I really like the name Jayse for a little boy. (Rhymes with Chase, my son's name). :)

I like the spelling Jayson too. Jayson is very traditional but still very cute.

How about Jachin? It is pronounced Jake-in.

It is much more traditional but I really love Jacob or Jake. I also really like Jaden or Jayden which is definitely a unisex name.

I don't think that Jaylin is too feminine. Maybe change the spelling a bit...Jaylen or Jaylon or Jalin...get away from the Lyn. I think it is a pretty popular boys name...

Good Luck! SD

pick a name you and dad can agree on but as others have said think of the child going through life with the name. you may think today it is a real hip name but in ten years it may be a name to make fun of. ( jaylin is too girly. i work with 3 jaylins - all female)

Yeah Jaylin does sound a little feminine like Haylin and Caitlin. How about Jaydan?

if its a boy why not just name him completely after the father? as in Jr. i think men really adore that. and naming the son after the father is an age old traditional. but dont let anyone tell u what to do!

or you could just wait til he is born and see what name comes to mind! that could be special and sweet! well take care.
