My son is 7 and occasionally has accidents with bed wetting. We are seeing a doctor for this...there seems to be an emotional problem causing it. I'm having a hard time keeping up with his laundry. Laundry soap is not doing the trick so I'm wondering if there's something I can add to help clean his clothing and bedding. Any advice would be appriciated...I can't take the smell much more.

awe, sorry to hear of your problem, I can help you out, just use White Vinegar pour in one cup of vinegar to the hottest water the bed sheets and blankets can stand, agitate the washer for about ten minutes then allow to soak for about two hours then put the washing machine through the cycle, then you may wash normally if you desire but is not necessary but if you choose to do so then wash normally but add White Vinegar to the rinse cycle this time, you sheets and blankets will come out soft clean and freshened, so don't add any fabric softner, it's not necessary with vinegar. Good Luck ! Hope your son gets better soon.

Vinegar works well put in a cup full of vinegar in the wash with the normal amounts of deteregent and then another lot when the rinse cycle is on also make sure they are air dryed if possible becuase the smell can be made worse by the heat of the dryer. You may have to wash them more then once if they are really bad and use hot water.

I use vinegar on my son undies (he is 8 and has mild autism and cerebral palsy causing problem with his bowls) this takes the smell out of them and once hung on the line the sunshine aslo acts as a deodrant...You won't notice the smell of the vinegar either.

If you need to clean the bed try some bi carbonate soda on the matress rub in gently with a brush or you gloved hand, let sit for as long as possible and vaccumm vigourously you may need to repeat this several times until the smell is gone also airing the matress outside again in the sunlight helps aleviate smells.

I have found this works wonderful
Try using that orange hand cleaner that comes in a small can type container. Not only is it globby, but it has a nice orange smell. And will also clean the inside of your washer as well.Add a glob to the water, before adding the soiled laundry in. Stir with your hands while the water is filling, dont forget your laundry soap, then add your soiled laundry.

I have a son who wets his bed, EVERY NIGHT. I wash EVERYTHING every day. It's taken a year to figure it out, but I did it! No urine smell from ANY of it including stuffed animals.
I start filling the washer with HOT water & half a cup of Tide liquid. At a third full add the blanket, pour 1 cup of white vinegar around on the blanket. At two thirds full, add sheets and PJ's, add a second cup of white. When full add the second half of Tide on top. I let it wash for 2-3 minutes then stop. Let soak for 20 min. My machine only allows a hot wash w/ cold rinse, so before restarting I change the setting to a cycle with a warm rinse and add half cap of Gain fabric softener beads and turn machine back on! Works on flannel, cotton and microfiber sheets, pajamas, t-shirts, stuffed animals and fleece blankets!

Vinegar is the best. No unhealthy chemicals. Children do often regress when there are emotional problems so taking care of that first is a good idea. Have him help you clean up but don't make it a punishment. He will feel more in charge of the problem and won't be worrying as much as he will if it is a hassle for you and he feels 'bad'. It isn't unusual for a 7 yr. old to have an occasional accident.

Take 2 cups of hydrogen peroxide (one small brown bottle) and 2 Tbsp of baking soda and mix together. Stir in a few drops of liquid dish soap. Use on a small area to make sure it doesn't discolor the fabric, unless you don't care. Pour it on the sheets in the washer and let it soak for an hour before running the cycle. In fact, make a double recipe because you want the solution to soak the sheets. This works on mattresses and carpets too. Works on any type of urine, human or pet. Good luck!

YES, add about a cup full of white vinegar to each load of laundry, that with the combination of soap and water gets rid of any smell, its very good with cat urine, which that smell i think is a lot worse then human urine...

a number of scoops of OxiClean (bought in tubs in the laundry aisle) placed into the nice and comfortable water because of the fact the washer is filling. you additionally can upload detergent. I used a answer of OxiClean and warm water to scrub the muddle pan while we had a ferret - that stuff is incredible! And it rather is real - if the scent is that undesirable, it rather is probable a male that desires to be neutered asap. i know in case you may choose to convey the undertaking up including your boyfriend's mom, yet they won't be waiting to sniff it anymore, and that they are little question dropping domicile fairness. Being elementary does not be undemanding, yet greater effectual to get a clean carpet and sponge the region down with OxiClean or Nature's Miracle than to have their domicile be destroyed. Feliway plug-in diffusers may additionally help cats end spraying while they have been neutered, yet that must be performed first. good success!

If you don't want to use the white vinegar in the laundry get Clorox and use a cup of that per load, your smell may be coming from his bed. You need to take big black garbage sacks and cover the mattress so it is water proof or go and buy a water proof mattress cover.
