Could you, collectively, be more easily persuaded to adopt a new process that is quite expensive and
elaborate or to comply with regulated, standard break times for the entire group? What factors do you think would influence the group?

Even in close knit groups there may be individuals slower to adapt to something you're labeling as "elaborate" that manages break times. But in this case, as with machines, it is the squeaky wheel that gets the oil. And as with such business processes, that keep you virtually tied to a desk while dangling your paycheck over you head, the group may soon feel like a machine.

Influencing factors include: complete dissemination of information related to decisions made; providing creative choices for incentives; a heavy-handed 'stay the course', never let em see you sweat approach. Should also be said that group leaders heavily influence the dynamic of the group.

Overall, fostering a visible (we're begging you) positive atmosphere can help salvage morale. Having a kickoff celebration is not such a bad idea.
