Oh it sure is bad to allow appliances to get inundated with dust, this causes them to overheat and wear out much faster and have more breakdowns, to control dust is use a vacuum and microfiber cloths, generally dust frequently depending on the area you live in, like for instance if you live in a dry desert then you must dust more frequently, keep windows closed during the wind and apply a silicone spray to glass surfaces to keep the dust down, also use a dryer sheet on the T.V. screen to help control dust and clean. Radios can be cleaned by taking off the back of the unit and vacuumed gently use lighter suction power. Good Luck !

Sometimes accumulations of dust in electronics can cause it operate at higher temperatures possibly shortening the life of that equipment. Unplugging it and blowing it out using canned air (hopefully outside) can reduce the accumulation. If you have central air there are electronic filtering devices that can also reduce this dust through out the home and if you have allergies can also help with problems associated with air-born contaminants

Have your furnace cleaned yearly. Put filters in all the registers. I just bought the washable kind and cut them to fit the registers. When they get dirty just take them out and wash them..
