to eventually talk to somone whom you suspected of stalking you? My friends ex girlfriend thinks that he was stalking her. i know for a fact he was not and would never do that. She said she wants him to stay out of his life. Does she mean this forever, or do you think over time it will be water under the bridge? Hes really distraught and I told him to give it time.. was this good advice?

I've been accused of stalking someone and I know how ridiculous it is! I would say no, don't talk to that person. If she wants to apologize then she should make the first move.

If she wants him to stay away from her and out of her life, he should respect her wishes despite how he feels. As he goes through life and lives a good and productive life, someday she will see this in him and realize that was always was an overall good person inside and she may have been wrong about thinking he was the "stalker type".
Whatever he did, it upset her to the point of her telling him to stay out of his life. If I were him, I would work on putting her into my past and try to move on with life. There is no way a woman is going to develop feelings again for an ex who she thinks is stalking her. Unless those feelings are of "creepiness".
He will only put himself through more emotional hell if he continues to try to hold onto hope that something will again develop between them.

I really doubt it very much. If he was suspected about staulking maybe there was someone following her that had the same appearance from a distance? Yes your advice of give it time is always good advice and nutral. Its always difficult to know what to say at times. If he gets a chance to talk to her, but if she really believes this then she may be too frightened to ever talk to him again. I am not being mean just realistic. Yes she probably means forever. Like I said a woman that is afraid will act like this. Its normal, for her to act like this. Perhaps write a letter (your friend) to her and not mail it, just to keep for himself to help him heal. He can burn it after that if he wants. Take care Heather

That depends on the age of your friend and his ex, if you're still in high school or even soon after then it's probably nothing, they could end up being married in ten years, if your friends are adults and this is a legitimate concern then all contact should be cut off for good, its best for both of them to move on.
Also does she have good reason to think that? or is she just really that self absorbed that she thinks his life still revolves around her?
Hope your friend feels better about it soon.

Yeah, you gave him good advice. If you keep buggin' a girl that ain't feelin' it, 9 times outta 10 you're ruinin' any chance EVER. There are those that dig persistence, but I'LL never be that guy.
