Simply: he is overrated. We all found out about this after he played Florida 'cos the SEC has defense.

Troy Smith does no longer have personality themes!!!! He made one mistake in his sophomore 3 hundred and sixty 5 days and has been between the perfect leaders in college football on account that(back to back BCS bowl video games) and his intelligence is yet another ingredient, he realized the buckeye offense interior out and the purely reason the Florida sport blew up is that the offense lost its second maximum important participant after a million sequence (ted ginn) he's massive in press conferences and is a real chief on and rancid the sphere. His purely knock is the poor play after the shortcoming of ted ginn interior the NC and his acceptable, besides the indisputable fact that the perfect QB interior the NFL very last 3 hundred and sixty 5 days (Drew Brees) is about an same acceptable. So the purely reason his draft inventory has dropped is the nationwide championship performance, which is totally not honest because the game plan became destroyed. So in case you wanna hate on him for one sport and enable Brady Quinn off for 10 poor video games (and losses) then go ahead yet Troy will be a superior NFL quarterback for whoever supplies him a large gamble.

He was one of the top? Top what - 10? I mean talent gets thin after 5 or so. Nothing against Troy Smith either. The first problem has always been considered his height. He is considered short for the NFL. Next thing is the NFL is also known as the "what have you done for me lately?" league. His last game was the National Championship and he did terrible. Now maybe you want to claim that Florida Defense was really great. Say you want to claim they are the NFL level. That makes you say- What his WRs were that bad, or was his line that bad? See either way you have to explain why he would be better in the NFL then he would have been against an NFL defense.

Troy Smith is a classic example of a good college quarterback gone bad by draft day. Not only will he be overlooked by many teams and scouts, but he might even end up on a team with plenty of years left on their current QB roster. This will only serve as motivation and provide him time to properly adjust to the defensive speed on the next level. Given ample time and the proper offensive system(west coast)...Troy Smith will get his shot at running his own offense by 2009-2010. Plenty of quarterbacks(Montana, Brady) have undergone and surpassed many of the same obstacles he is facing this year due to his size, mechanics....etc...(you name it and it's been critisized in some way). I believe he was affected by overexposure at the college level which led to the hype and raised expectations come draft day. The other QB's that are highly touted in the mock drafts you are seeing have been ranked ahead of Smith all season by NFL scouts, yet not all have been surrounded by as many flashbulbs and such an elite supporting cast as Troy Smith has.
Look at "that Florida QB"....he won a national championship and he barely snuck into the scouts top 100 players available....who would have known?

Troy Smith is really overrated. His height is what is hurting him the most.He is only 6 feet and most NFL QB's are between 6'2 -6"5 it makes a workld of difference in seeing over the O line .
Also Troy Smith is not an accurate passer. He was a "camp arm" aty the NFL combine and continuously underthrew or throw it the ball to the wrong place. We are just talking about drills.
Someteam wil ltake a chance on him but I don't think he will go until the 3rd round at the earliest.

He might still get drafted, but it is his size that most teams will stay from. He is only 6 foot and teams are looking for QB's to be at least 6' 4" to throw over the linemen. That was big problem for Flutie as well. Jake Plummer was on the edge as well at 6' 2" teams didn't want to give him a chance. Ironically one of the best QB's of all time was taken in the third round because he was a little on the small side (Joe Montana).

He did not get injured. He was not even in the top 5 QB's (i know i was baffled Drew Stanton and the Stanford qb were ahead of him). His size is what is making him lose value if anything. He is only 5'9 ish and will have trouble seeing over the offensive and defensive lines. His arm strength, are you kidding? He threw the ball over 70 yards on the fly in the skills competition and won of course. I love Troy Smith and want to see Cleveland pick him up in the 2nd or 3rd round!

Smith is eligible for the 2007 NFL Draft. He is considered as one of the top quarterbacks available. On January 30, 2007, Smith is quoted by the media urging his hometown team, the Cleveland Browns, to select him in the NFL Draft.[14]. There is even a Web site dedicated to helping him get drafted by the Browns, DraftTroy.com.

first he wasn't injured... second just because you are a good college quarterback it doesn't mean you'll do well in the NFL...look at past Heisman winners and you can see that...he will get drafted but the national championship game showed he still needs to mature as a QB to read defenses especially against players as fast as NFL players... he will be 2nd or 3rd team somewhere and if he takes the opportunity to learn then he could end up starting given the right situation. his height is definitely a factor in where he will be drafted.

he is a bit overatted only because of his size hes only 6'0 220 a good size QB is 6'3 225-235 or bigger. He had the best surrondings a huge O-line most of their guys were 6'3 285!! And smart fast WR (Ginn &Gonzalez) and a fast all round running back. These things made Smith great . even though they say he is too small or he has a weak arm, Troy smith isn't that bad of a QB

Arm strength and height are working to his disadvantage. Also his combine performance didn't blow anyone away. He won't be drafted until the 3rd or 4th round.
