They were enforcing a UN Resolution, jesus.

It wasn't espionage, they stopped some smugglers.

Iran and Iraq fought a nice little war over that waterway. Iran sees this as an opportunity claim more than is internationally recognized that they own.

I'm pretty sure the British were in Iraqi water (at least going by where the international community says the boundary is). People traveling in that area use GPS to determine where they are. So I guess there could have been a mistake. But WHATEVER.

Iran needs to give them back. It's just plain WRONG to keep them this long. Plus, don't they know that W is just looking for an excuse?

If the Iranians have half a brain aomingst them, they will treat those sailors and Royal Marines as if they are hosting the Queen herself. Iran has already broken international law and committed an act of piracy, which is a legal provocation for war. If I were Tony Blair, I would set a deadline of midnight tomorrow, and if there were no headway, bombs would be falling on Teheran.

If Iran's government had any sense they would release them. As American forces continue to gather evidence that Iran is behind the funding and supply of arms and personal, causing the deaths of thousands of innocent lives; I can only wounder how the left will excuse them. ohhh I know blame it all on Bush. That's right, that's all they know. Facts, who needs facts, it's Bushes fault.

Bush is tired of waiting for this war,,, action is heating up in Washington, and he needs some distraction..

This was a set up to start the attack of Iran, now can defend it on wmd ( still not proven by the way )
and kidnapping. Hope they turn them free soon, Bush is just begging to start an attack.

Release them. They were not in Iranian waters. I wish they were doing espionage. We really need that done. We really don't need any more Jane Fondas though.

Iran should return them unharmed before they get blown off the face of the earth.

Amadinejad should take a careful look at the two U.S. aircraft carriers parked in the local waters not far from Iran and very carefully consider his next move against one of America's strongest allies.
Very carefully.

Honestly I think this might be one of those things where the US can back away and let the Iranian officials have the space to do the right thing. I know they will.
