Cannabis Duration
Smoked
Total Duration: 1 - 4 hrs
Onset: 0 - 10 mins
Coming Up: 5 - 10 mins
Plateau: 15 - 30 mins
Coming Down: 45 - 180 mins
After Effects: 2 - 24 hrs
Make sure you smoke slowly, allowing yourself time to accustom yourself to the effects and the action. If you find you smell like weed, air yourself outside and use perfume. If you smell like smoke, light some sulfur matches (one by one, very carefully if you're still high), let them burn until they would burn your fingers, then blow them out and set them on the counter. When you have about five, wait for them to cool completely and stick them in a shirt or jacket pocket. When your folks ask about the smell, tell them you were playing with fire--dangerous, but usually not illegal. It will also explain bloodshot eyes, if you get them.
The most important thing to remember is that you have never smoked before, so you should not do very much. At the very least, do less than everyone around you.

The smell won't last too long, an hour maybe? But the high might last a long time -- a few hours. Plus you might get really tired afterward. It depends... people react differently. To be safe I would plan like 5 hours. Buy some eye drops because your eyes will almost certainly get red, a dead giveaway. You might also want to bring a bottle of water, it helps if you start coughing plus you could get thirsty from smoking.
Go easy and don't inhale too much at a time. Your friends might try to "teach" you how to smoke by encouraging you to take big hits; if you follow their advice you'll most likely end up coughing nonstop for like 2 minutes . It is possible to get more high than what's enjoyable. Not good if you have to worry about sobering up.
I think those people who condemn smoking weed simply don't know what they're talking about. In my opinion it is 100 times safer than drinking. As far is it killing brain cells... first of all this is not supported by science, and furthermore literally half the people from my suite in first-year college smoked weed. And this is a university ranked among the Top 50 in the nation. Somewhere around 30th. It's all a matter of self-control, just like drinking. It was no problem for me to stop either.
Ah, I wish I could go back to the first few times I smoked. It was so fun -- I don't think I ever laughed harder in my life.

The question is not to smoke or not to smoke? but does smoking weed benefit me in any way? If you weigh the pros and cons of smoking weed, then you will find that there is nothing much to gain from smoking weed.
Some people say that you need to try everything at least once for experience but I prefer to differ because there are many things that we can learn from other people's experience and it won't hurt us much!
If you ask, should I or should I not, then it shows that deep down in your heart, you have the niggling feeling that you should not and if you know that you can't go home until the effects and traces of your smoking has vanished (to hide the fact that you have smoked weed) brings out the fact that you know smoking weed is not something right to do!
Finally, it's your life, it's your mind and it's your decision whether you want to mess it up with "smoking weed" or not but I do pray and hope that you will seriously think through this issue carefully yourself, and not let peer-pressure and a desire to be one of the group push you to do something that you regret.
Good luck!

Contrary to a lot of the blinkered views expressed, i think you should try it at least once. Life is for living and experiencing all that we can in the short time we're here. Also, at least you will be able to talk with authority about weed as you will have experiece of it - rather than relying on second-hand information for people and what is presented in the media.
The strength depends on the variety you get, the effect will very also.
Recommend you take one toke, hold ot, breathe out, then just leave it alone for 10-15mins (some types of weed/skunk are 'creepers' and you will feel fine for a while before it hits you) and see how that effects you. Seeing as its your first time it will probally knock you sideways and make you feel a bit ill (if you start to feel like this then drink some orange juice/other high sugar drink)......
Here's to life experiences be they good or bad - at least you can say you lived!

It can stick to your clothes and it does smell very bad so beware. The high can last from 3-4 hours and the effects can range from very intense to not feeling anything at all. I know my first time i didn't feel that much different, but if the weed is some dank stuff then you could be on a good one for a while. Just be sure to have eye drops, and perfume or body spray to lessen the smell.

Well that is a complicated question because first it depends on what type of weed you smoke and how much you smoke. I would say because its your first time you are going to be more effected by it. I would wait about two-three hours after smoking to go home, and make sure to take visen for your eyes. To avoid the smell wear an over shirt (like a hoodie) and a t-shirt under it. When you smoke take off the hoodie and put in a seperate room. Also, take body spray with you it helps to mask the smell.
Happy Tokin!

Well for me the first time I tired pot it didn't affect me at all. It took me awhile to build up the THC in my system before I got "high". But that was when I was a teenager. I would say in order for you to get over the effects of weed it depends on you. Me personally I can't function on it. All I want to do is go to sleep. I know other people that have been smoking it for awhile and they can function no problem.
But as far as the smell on you. Good Luck there. I smoke cigarettes so my sense of smell has gone along time ago.
But if I had it do all over again I wouldn't smoke at all because there is no big deal at all. It just makes you stupid for awhile, why do you think they call it DOPE?

Have been smoking for over 30 years so I got a little knowledge on the subject. If you are worried about the smell on your clothes then ride home with the windows of your car down, will not totally eliminate the smell but it will minimize.
Get some Visene for red eyes to clear up your eyes and a breath mint. you should be able to pass a not too close inspection. If you get really stoned (not likely on your first time) you might want to stay out a little later so you can come down a little, the giggles always give you away.

Try it once, it won't kill you(and you won't be going to hell because of it). There is no nicotine in pot. If you wait about an hour after you smoke it before you go home, then you should be fine. Have a read through this if you want. It talks about the myths surrounding pot. http://mit.edu/thistle/www/v13/2/myths.html
This one has some good information too. http://www.drugpolicy.org/marijuana/factsmyths/
Use it responsibly. Too much of anything can be a bad thing. Never buy pot. It's a waste of money. Only smoke it when people invite you to smoke it.
