My ex mother in law, use to make such nice deserts around the
holidays and "one was with jello & tapioca pudding whip cream on top and sprinkles..." but i forget how she prepared it,
I know it had some kind of a cake base but i forget how to make
it !! does anyone know the desert im talking about? if not do you
have any ideals im giving a baby shower this weekend! any help or ideal.... thanks so much.

Look up English Trifle... it's a great dessert.

It sounds like you are talking about trifle.

Plain vanilla/butter sponge cake as base, raspberry jelly, custard/tapioca and thickened cream.

Make sure the cake is a couple of days old. Needs to be hard and nearly stale as the rest of the desert is moist and the sponge will soak up the brandy, jelly, custard and cream.

For extra flavour, you soak the cake in brandy (lots or little depending on taste)

I find seserts to be a little dry and sandy and they make me quite thirsty, but I do like desserts.
