a while back when i was about 8 weeks pregnant my abusive boyfriend, whom by the way i left for good, beat me up. he hit me a few times in the stomach very hard and i even had bruising....i went to my doctor we did an ultrasound and babys heart was beating but it was too early so baby looked like a fuzzy blur. im now 16 weeks along and im terrified my child will come out deformed...any one ever hear of that sort of outcome from getting beat in the stomach while pregnant? help please?

Usually the baby is very well protected in there especially so early on because it's usually within the pelvis. I'm sure your baby will be ok but speak to the doctor again and tell him your worries as stress is not good for you or your baby. Well done for leaving that animal and good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. When your baby is laid in your arms I'm sure you'll feel much better.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. You should be okay, since the baby is so small. I hope you got this guy put in jail and got a restraining order against him.
I was in that situation once too, except he beat me in the head when I was pregnant and suffocated me. I was four months along and my baby was just fine.
Don't put him on the birth certificate and get a restraining order. This guy should have nothing to do with your baby.

Oh honey, I'm so sorry. I am so happy that this abusive *** is no longer part of your life. As far as injuring your baby- I'd have to say the chances are extremely slim. Your baby at 8 weeks was very tiny and was and still is, very well protected. I'm sure you're fine.

the baby is in a pool of water and is very small and would just bounce around in water. Should be fine at that stage. Do get an early ultrasound though.. I would worry more if baby took up whole uterus, like in thrid trimester

Its actually very unlikely, at 16 weeks, it is so small and protected, if late in pregnancy then it is dangerous. My Friend fell flat on her stomach at 32 weeks and her baby was healthy, so try not to worry, worrying is not good for the baby eaither!!! Trust your doctor if s/he's a good one.

I've never been pregnant but I would just call my doc. and tell him what I feared and ask if maybe he could look and see how the baby was doing.... even if your baby does come out different just be glad the baby is alive its always a miracle when stuff like that happens.

Your baby should be fine. From what I've heard, your baby could probably only come out deformed based on genes and stuff. However, I am extremely sorry for you. Abuse is repulsive.

I don't think it will be deformed, but the hard blows could cause damage like miscarriage or premature labor. I think deformity comes from a gentic issue or birth defect. Kudos to you for leaving before it was too late. Good luck to you and your little one.

dont take my opinion as medical advice, but i would think your baby will be fine. he/she has lots of protection in there...and he/she was so so so so very tiny at 8 wks that the baby probably didnt even notice a thing was happening.

on another note, im proud of you for leaving him. not many women have the strength to stand up to their abusive boyfriend/husband. very very good thinking!!

Your baby is very protected in the womb, I would not worry about it coming out deformed.
