In Europe, Trance and electronic music in general are very popular. But in the states, most people don't even know what trance is... I'm an european but now I live in USA and the only place I can hear electronic music is on the internet radio stations. I think this country is too obsessed with Rock and Hip Hop, pop. They should try something new....

I love electronic music, but I'm sick of trance. In the beginning, I found it to be interesting and original. But it hasn't progressed much from what I've listened to. Tiesto and his pals use the same old tired sounds and beats.
But I do agree that Americans need to branch out more. I think it's because our culture is kind of uptight when it comes to dancing. We need to learn to let go and party the way our European friends do =).

Trance music is something you need to feel and dance along with your own rhythm. Of course, you might need a rhythm before. Mostly of the popular music in USA is whether choreographic or is not for dancing. In the first case, it's easy to follow others steps, although robotic, than dance by yourself if you simply can't.

I love trance music...I wish more people here in the states did (or that I knew about them)...trance music is awesome... (though some songs would sound better on an acid trip...lol)

America got bored with that type of pseudo-music back in the 80's. It didn't progress. Rock and hip-hop only seem prevalent because they are heavily marketed to a certain demographic/age group with disposable income (parent's money). There are millions of people who study, play, buy and listen to profound, eclectic, progressive music, i.e. classical, jazz, etc.

ehh, i cant listen to trance for too long.
however, i am a huge fan of electronica or house.
daft punk, vitalic, justice, the presets, anything from the dfa, the list is endless...

Trance is boring and repetitive unless you are high. That doesn't say much for the quality of the music.
