I met my first love in my High School Junior year.

We were inseparable,

we would meet very early in the morning before school,

we kissed between classes,

and at lunch we would meet at the football field away from everybody else.

We would hang out together after school until her Mother made me leave.

Then we would talk on the phone until we couldn't stay awake any longer.

The next morning we would do it all over again.

We continued this wonderful relationship for the next four years and we then got married.

That ruined everything, I don't know why but everything was different and we did not get along anymore.

One day while I was at work her Mother called a Moving Company and moved her little girl back home.

I came home to a vacant apartment and thought we were robbed.

They left me nothing but leftover trash, not even a pillow to lay my head on.

I almost called the police but I decided to call my in laws to see if my wife was all right.

Her mother told me that they cleaned out the apartment and my wife did not want to talk to me.

I was devastated, but free and it felt good.

It actually took years to get over her completely because she kept coming back into my life off and on and every time she would leave and disappoint me.

I was pretty much over her about 6 months after she left the first time because I met a lot of fun loving girls in and I was having a great time with them.

It seemed that every time I started having fun and forgetting about her, she would show up out of the blue and want to get back together.

I always took her back and we would always have a great time, things would be going great then she would just disappear into thin air again every time leaving me high and dry.

Last I heard from her she was on her 3rd marriage and I never remarried ( I didn't see any advantage in it for a man after my experience.)

In retrospect I should have dumped her in High School and started dating the hot girls that were always flirting with me.
( I of course didn't give them the time of day because I was in love and going steady. )

I honestly would not change things if I could, because I have so many great memories from back then.

I have had many relationships since then and when you really love someone it always hurts when you split up, sometimes for a year or more.

But when you keep yourself busy and allow yourself to enjoy other people it sure helps to ease the pain.

Anytime you get back with someone that you almost got over and you break up again, you start the grieving process all over again. So I have found it is less painful in the long run to make a clean break.
( Although this is easier said than done. )
