Thanks for pointing that out. I'd like a tax refund for all government service that go to children or "our future" since we have no stake in it. I'm sure the other 'childless' people will be wanting their money back too. By the way who do children give you a monopoly on concern for the future?

I dont see what one has to do with the other. If you have children how do you know they will have any commitment to the future of the country. You seem to be saying Gay people do not have any. That you and I know is wrong. You either do or you do not. What you do in bed has no bearing on it.

don't actually know anyone gay, do you? we CAN and DO have children! maybe not in the "traditional" way, but we have lots of gay/lesbian friends who have biological children. we are just as concerned about the future of this country and children as anyone else, and of course we are concerned for future events. if people like you still are this close-minded and ignorant of the truth and believe in lies, assumptions and stereotypes, it's YOU that we question having concern for this country and the future!

Totally not true. Homosexuals may have adopted children, in vitro children, children from prior relationships, etc.
Being queer myself, I can tell you that I participate in ecologically-concerned programs, a program to bring the arts to kids in inner-city schools, and more.
I'd be more concerned about the abusive parents, if I were you.

What makes you think we have no children? My wife and I have three and planning a fourth. And actually, every lesbian couple I know has at least one child and many gay male couples I know do as well. And if a person is straight with no children does that mean they don't worry for the future of our country?

As a group, I wouldn't know. As an individual, I know I'm _more_ concerned about the future of the country than nearly all of my straight friends. I'll mention something like the environment or the consequences of the war, and my friends'll just yawn and go about their business. Maybe I'm unique, but I doubt it. I'm sure there are concerned people in every group.

I am a lesbian in a committed, 22 year relationship. We are raising twin boys, who have just turned one year old. We adopted our boys from my partners brother, who was unable to care for them due to drug induced difficulties. Our boys are being raised to be the future leaders of our country, with compassion, respect and devotion. Please don't assume they are lacking positive male role models....they have plenty of input from our many male relatives and are thriving, happy children as all children should be. The assumption that same sex couples have no children, or worse, that these children should suffer due to their parents being same sex is ridiculous. Our children are protected from bigots even at their young age, and will benefit strongly from being raised as non-prejudiced, caring and informed people. A better question was already asked in this thread....should bigots even be allowed to run our country ?

I find it interesting that as a straight married person who has chosen not to have children, I've never been asked such a question. Has it ever occured to you that refraining from popping out 6 kids apiece shows more concern for the future than otherwise? 6.5 billion is enough, don't you think?

What about the parents who have children just for the welfare check or who are so drunk or stoned that they don't remember that they have children? "Parenthood" doesn't make someone into a saint. Lack of children doesn't mean someone is a short-sighted hedonist.
