Vet nurse sound like a vet tech. Vet tech takes 9 months - 1 yr of classes and at least 6 months of on hand experience. Basically the same thing you say you are doing.

After you complete that, you can study and take more classes (1-2 yrs) at a tech school (same thing as polytechnic??) to become a certified vet tech (CVT), who can assist directly in surgeries, and basically is one step below the vet. From the CVT, you can also specialize in certain areas to become more qualified.

I would think a vet nurse would be qualified to be a vet tech especially if you are taking all the same courses. If you have experience in all the things you listed you would make a damn good vet tech.

Here in the United States we only have the term/title "Vet Tech", I don't think we use "Vet Nurse" but I could be wrong.

There are no real set definitions in the veterinary field like there are for medical personnel. Even the kids answering phones and cleaning dog runs can call themselves a vet tech if they wish, while you can expect a med tech to at the very least be an EMT-B.

I'm pretty sure it is. I know we don't call anyone at a vet's office a vet nurse, so I would say it's just a difference in the names between the countries.
