If the answer deserves to be awarded BEST, it should get all 5 stars !

I almost always do. As a matter of fact I only did not once. Because I had to pick a best answer but really no one understood the question well. So maybe you are getting best answer, but really the answer is not that good, just a little better than others. If that is not the case really I don't understand it. Seems if a person really likes the answer they would give the 5 stars. But you still got the points, so really why complain.
Ciao

Many people seem to have a 'preconceived' idea of the answer they are looking for. When the 'best answer' is only partially what they are looking for, they give fewer than 5 stars.

More than once, I have received 5 star answers with comments similar to this: "that's what I was thinking".

Best wishes.

same reason why you could buy bread for 10 bucks but you'd rather pay 2 bucks? ok i know thats lame

maybe cos an answer that the asker sees as worth only two stars make the asker seem less dumb than ratin the answer a five? maybe that dusnt make sense but ppl subconsciously downsize others contributions to make themselves seem better (took that off the net. sounds knowledgable right?)

well i dunno ask a psychologist specialising in yahoo answers behaviour or somethin...

If it's so easy to give 5 stars, why do you care?

Maybe you just give poor answers.

People like to act like they are smart, discerning critics when they really either dont really know what they are talking about or they dont actually care about the quality of what they are looking at to give it real consideration rather than passing interest.
