Good command of 3 pitch's is fine. Four is fine and is normal.

Depends on the pitcher. If they are a starter I would say 3 if not 4 is a must. Like they say though, its better to perfect 2 pitches then be average at 4. Relief can get by on 2 pitches, fastball and then their out pitch. But having that third keeps the batter honest.

Well it all depends on what type of pitcher you are starter, middle reliever, or closer. If you want to be a top-notch starter in Major League Baseball most starters will have at least 4 pitches 3 that they can throw for strikes during any count and one to keep the hitters guessing what there going to throw next. Now if your a closer most closers only have 2-3 pitches. Mariano Rivera for the Yankees I believe only throws the nastiest cut fastball in the game. So depending on what type of pitcher you are will ultimately depend on how many pitches you have, but having a wide variety of pitches will make you all the more deadly on the mound against any batter you face.

The most important thing when it comes to pitching is command (aka control). Throwing strikes with any pitch is what makes it valuable. After that, the best pitchers in baseball (and fastpitch) have command over 3 pitches: a fastball, change up and breaking ball (slider or curve ball) in that order. The best pitch and worst pitch is a fastball: regardless of speed it depends on where you put it!

Focus on and master the fastball and change up Most likely you won't need your other 5 at any level.

most seem to have 3-4 pitches. But if you can make it work with 2, that's great, if you have 4 good pitches and another to keep them guessing, and another that works too, it's still great. I don't think it should matter as long as it works. But for a starter, I'd have to say 3 pitches would be the minimum for almost anyone. Good job on 7 pitches though o.o

I think that pitchers should have at least 5-6 pitches.

lol.... when i was in little league i used to think i had 5, just because of different grips, but in reality i had 2 pitches, being able to throw the pitch accurately and correctly is one thing, but usually when you get that many you are gripping the ball correctly for what the pitch is supposed to do but arent getting that movement, or whatever the certain pitch is supposed to do, or you dont have the control of it mastered yet

A minimum of 3, and better 4. Seven, assuming you have command of them, is remarkable.

4 or 5, but if you really have that many, that is amazing
