first off, pci doesn't use a driver, it is a type of hardware link. pci is where your video or sound or ethernet and other "cards" are installed in you motherboard. te;ll use you need pci drivers says nothing. what you need are drivers for a pci card you have installed. to find out what you need, look and see what you have for pci card installed on the board. chances are you have atleast an ethernet card and a sound card. if you have more, check and see if each is listed in the systems properties. one by one check. when you are looking and one isn't listed, pull it out of the machine. see who made it with the model numbers and then goto driversguide.com with the info. have more that aren't working, do the same for those cards. if you pull a card out and then boot the system up. check the system properties and you'll see that the unknown hardware has disappeared for here. if you put it back in and you get the unknown again you'll know what is causeing these problems.

Download the current driver for the device and re-install it. If it is a device that windows has the drivers for, then re-install the driver from the device manager. You will probably have to go to manufacturer's web site and download the latest driver for the device. That would be the best way.

Hi. You could try a roll back. Or an upgraded driver. But PCI is pretty much standard. Is it 1.1 or 2.0? You can perhaps download a newer one.
