Have you seen the $$$ on a new harley lately... most of those guys are successful or hardworking men and women, and they have enough money for a toy to ride on the weekends. You don't find many of the rough biker types like you see in the movies anymore, they're everyday people like you and me.

Yes! They terrify me. Not because of what they do on the weekends on their Harleys, but for what they do Monday through Friday at their jobs. Most of the Harley riders I know are captains of industry, bankers, doctors, lawyers and such. They have to overcharge me for their services to afford a Harley for their weekend rides.

I used to be, but now I'm not. All the ones the men riders that I have met seem to be these Big Belly- ed, scruffy dressed, Raspy Voiced Teddy Bears! They just want a hug. They have a big heart and like to help out where needed. I even know a doctor who rides and a whole religious group who rides.

(Now, no offense, but the women seem to be a little on the rough & tough side. They seem to smoke & curse more than the men. And believe me, they don't want you hugging their men! LOL!)

Most Harley owners are middle-aged professionals or businessmen.
Far from being anyone to be afraid of.

I think I used to be, but since I watch so much Discovery channel now and I see the people building bikes, I'm not scared of motorcyclists any more. My grandfather has a bike now (he won't let me ride it, though), and my uncle is in negotiations with my aunt over one. I think it used to be an issue of "otherness." Once I became accustomed to bikers and I realized that yes, they are real people and they are cool and no, they weren't out to get me, I was cool with them too.

Love the smell of leather and the look of faded jeans.
When I was a teen, they intimidated me a bit, but I've overcome that fear. They are just regular people who enjoy the wind in their face. I would love to own a bike of my own one day. They are great fun and economical too.

No, most bikers seem like ok people. I'm more afraid of the boob talking on his or her cellphone while driving an SUV.
