No he should have not been fired , if the school allows Houston Nutt to stay with the record he has had during his tenure they should have allowed Heath to stay at least one more year with a team built the way he wanted it to be built , he was still dealing with Nolans clunkers and NCAA sanctions when he took over the team and next year is going to be packed full of tallent

while Heath did have a winning record at arkansas, it was only marginal (82-71) and his record against SEC teams was even less impressive (31-49). Nolan Richardson's trial did not affect Stan Heath, only the university.....at least, i don't remember Stan being named in the lawsuit... however, you asked if arkansas should have fired Stan Heath..... the answer is simple, if you can take the credit for all of the wins(w/ kent st.), you need to be able to take the blame for the losses(w/ arkansas)..... of course he was a nice guy and all, but being calm doesn't win games, ask coach knight

Stan Heath was a nice man and he had integredity. Nothing against him, but I don't think as an SEC coach he has what is needed in the way of bringing up players and getting them to their maximum potential.

It is usually the coach that takes the blame for not getting his team over the hump. Just making it to the tourney is not enough, you have to go deep. Arkansas has had the talent.

i don't think so, he has been successful everywhere starting with the job he did at kent state and continuing at arkansas...at 20 wins a season i don't know what more they can expect, they certainly can't believe that there is a coach out there capable of recruiting sec talent away from kentucky and florida, can they?
