Anyone know the name of an old b/w western where an angel was a gunfighter that cleaned up a town?

I saw this movie many many years ago, I keep thinking James Cagney was the angel, but can not find anything on it.

I saw this movie only 2 times over 40 years ago. I am remembering it as James Cagney was the angel and I think Humphrey Bogart was the Bad Man. No I am not referring to John Wayne's "Angel and the Badman". At the beginning of the movie, James Cagney rode into town(wearing all black) and went to the town church to see the minister's widow. The minister had been killed recently.
