You find a topic. You research it. You report your findings.

You should have a thesis statement, and argument, a counterargument (that you disprove), a conclusion, and a bibliography or a works cited page.

I agree with Sydney - but you also need to use a style. APA, MLA, etc. especially if you are writing for at a college/university level.
