I also took my son to Florida when he was 3 months old. My pediatrician said to get any of the baby/kid sunscreen and use it sparingly, just don't coat your baby with it a lot. I bought the Coppertone sunscreen in a pink bottle and my son did fine with it. Have a good time in Florida, I'm going the end of April!

I have found that Blue Lizard Sunscreen sold by Coolibar works very well. The bottle turns pink when the UVA rays hit it, which is great to see just how much reflected UVA light there is.
The SPF is rated 30, which is the highest SPF there is in spite of the fact that some sunscreens are rated 45. It is a lie.
I am very allergic to the sun, so I bought some of the UVA/UVB blocking clothes that they sell. You might look for some for baby as well.
Have fun on your trip!

well, we use baby magic spf 48. it's in a spray bottle, which is a little more convenient than a cream, but not much. i know it says to consult a doctor if the chiild is under six months, but i didn't notice until i had already used it a couple of times, so i'm not sure WHY a baby less than six months shouldn't have sunscreen. we never had any bad reaction to it, so we kept using it. if there's anything formulated for children under 6 mos., i've never found it, and i must admit, i'm not religious about using it all the time. we try to alternate outdoor time and indoor time, otherwise we have problems handling her. she's 3 now, and trying to pick her up after slathering her with the stuff is like trying to catch a greased pig. best to ask your pediatrician if there's anything topical you can apply besides the standard sunscreens.

My son was born in Florida..... Get the baby faces sun block, place it on your finger and then on the face, avoid around the eye... but plaster it all over the rest of the baby before dressing because cloths move. The sun block should be at least 45+.. for the delicate little skin.... Have fun....

You shouldn't use sunscreen on a baby less than 6 months old. I didnt know you aren't supposed to, but the pediatrician told me that when I took my daughter in for a well baby. I used sunscreen with my first born and he was fine. We live by the beach, so when we go to the beach we take her in her car seat and cover it up. It doesn't seem to bother her. You could probably take the baby out for a couple minutes at a time. I wouldn't for long periods of time.

definite! its consistently ideal to be secure than to have a sunburnt boy! there are toddler creams and also you should get a minimum of a SPF 35. Get the perfect because the sunlight could do the worst. each person i opt for to remind each person that shes from the carribbean, there are many superior UV rays there than u . s ., and a newborn that is going from a umbrella on a coastline to a vehicle, interior of 5 minutes can be a burnt boy. Why chance it? i like the answer of organic or organic and organic sunscreen for youthful little ones

Go to the store and look at the kids sunscreens. The label should tell you if its safe. I used the Banana Boat brand. It was safe to use on her head (she hated hats and was constantly pulling them off) and had a high SPF. Make sure the kind you use is at least SPF 50 and if your child is ok with hats make sure you use one. Reapply often, especially if you take your child into some water.

You can use a zinc diaper cream to protect exposed skin. However that will make the skin white. But zinc is in the main ingredient in the nose sunblock lifeguards use.
