My daughter is almost four months and she is breastfeeding every two hours. Sometimes during the night she will wake up every three hours instead of two to eat, it varies every feeding during the night. I thought that maybe she was ready to eat every three hours so I have tried to distract her when it is her usual time to eat, I could only distract her for about 10 minutes before I knew it was time to feed her. I am fine with feeding her every two hours, I was just curious as to when other babies starting going longer between feedings. Obviously every baby is different. She is 75% for her weight and head circumference and 90% for her height, so she is perfectly healthy. Just curious....

My daughter started rolling around at three months and can roll from back to front now too. She is very active and prefers to stay on her tummy and hold her self up and look around.

My daughter nursed frequently until she was about 4 or 5 months old and then she went for 2 long stretches at night without nursing. Once we started solids at 6 months the stretches increased during the day too.

Aw, your baby seems very healthy and strong!! My little girl ate every 2 or 3 hours until around 5 or 6 months. After she learned how to crawl, boobie wasn't so important anymore. The first time I noticed we weren't nursing as much was when I had a tiny bit of engorgement in one of my breasts. Nothing serious, but noticeable. So I started paying attention and thats when I realized she wasn't nursing very often.

She's 9 months now, and we nurse once in the morning for her nap, maybe once around lunch time (just a snack), once before an afternoon nap, a couple times during the rest of the afternoon and evening, and then one more after her bath (her bedtime "ny-ny"). She still wakes up a few times (more often lately, as she's teething) at night to nurse, but we co-sleep, so I hardly notice.

Around six months, mine both started to eat solids and go longer between feedings. I noticed that when I relished the time spent sitting and nursing my babies, they stayed full longer. When I spent the whole feeding worried about doing the dishes, it seemed like the milk didn't want to come out and baby didn't stay satisfied.

Well my son is a bit of a special case as he has GERD, but at a year he still nurses every 1-3 hours even at night. I was getting him to go 4 hours in the afternoon by going to the park but he started to spit up again so I stopped.

Honestly though even if feedings do slow down, they very often pick back up again, and slow down again *lol*.

i think it'll depend on when she starts rolling and being more active. my dd (10 months now) started rolling around 5 months and thats when she started eating less. also she'll bf less when you introduce solids (usually around 6 months or later). I think it'll also depend on how long shes eating for.. if shes just snacking try to keep her on longer and see if she spaces it out more. Otherwise this sounds pretty normal to me.

She should start slowing down soon...maybe try feeding her longer and I know some people switch breasts during the feedings...I didn't with my daughter and that helped alot...she fed for about 1/2 and hour on one breast and she was full for at least 6 hours by that age.

When she is hungry, feed her. my baby since birth eats every 2 or 2 1/2 hours. shes almost 4 months and is sleeping all night. usually an hour b4 bed time i give her a bottle and a half and shes good all night and wakes up refreshed. if ur baby has a scheduel and is following it feed her as much as she'll take at night and she shouldnt be hungry. just make sure she has no gas or she will wake up with cramps and bloating screaming her head off.

that time seems about right. try going a little longer even if she cries for a few minutes. i let me child cry it out for a while at night and she adjusted pretty well. by 8 weeks she was already sleeping through the night and not eating until she woke up in the morning.
