It is a political ideology that puts you into a political party. There is something called a political spectrum... The left side is more liberal, the middle is moderate (meaning 'in the middle') and the right side is more conservative.

pretty much, left means democrat and right means republican.

Remember the constitution, declaration of independence, bill of rights? And how they talked about Freedom and Equality?

The best way I can say it is, Democrats are for Equality than anything else (they are pro gay rights, most of their votes come from hispanics, african americans, middle class)

and republicans are for freedom (they only care for themselves). haha jk. (most of their votes come from college students, professors, pretty much rich people)

hope this helps.

That question is fairly difficult.

I'm a democrat, but I am one of those you DON'T see leading the party and insulting our country and President.

I protest, dissent, and disagree when appropriate, but I don't act seditious, side with our enemies, spread unfounded rumors, or treat our elected representatives as 'guilty until proven innocent' or call them names.

Some of my party don't know the difference.

Some of the Republican party didn't know the difference when Former President Clinton was in office (his other problems aside).

I hope that regardless of what you believe, you will be a U.S. American FIRST, and a political party second.

Keep searching, everyone.

A democrat is someone who believes in the ideals of the democratic party. A strong central government as opposed to strong state governments. Hence the federal government takes on social programs rather than leaving them to the responsiblilty of state governments. Republicans want a smaller federal government, but recently they had control of congress and the white house and manages to make the federal government larger than it has ever been. What's worse, they lowered taxes while increasing spending. That has left us with a record debt, most of which is being held by our enemies.
