i'm 15 and 3 months pregnant. Now i know that's not good, but today me, my boyfriend, and my dad got into a huge arguement and my dad told my boyfriend to leave. And as soon as my boyfriend was gone, which he just stood on the porch, my dad punched me in the head and said to never disrespect him like that again. And i told my boyfriend and he called the police. I didn't know until after he did though. But anyways, the police said that since there was no marks or anything that they couldn't say much. Then they told my dad that it was okay if he hits me as long as no marks are left. Then they're trying to get my boyfriend in trouble for a "false report"! And i'm pregnant. I live in Iowa. But still can they really just let that go? shouldn't they do something?

That's sick. You should find a shelter near you for battered women and children. They can help you with school, give you a place to stay, and provide you eith protection. They even offer aid with pregnancies. You won't be able to see the bf there for saftey of the other women but you will find the care you need.

I have a hard time believing this story. If you are afraid of your father hurting you, you should have spoken up when the police came and asked for protection.
If you are being abused, you need to call Child Protective Services and ask for help.
Physically disciplining children is not a crime, on its own, and the police may have simply been acknowledging this fact.
Your boyfriend, in their eyes, is already guilty of statutory rape, and you are already lucky that they didn't haul him away already and charge him.
In any case, no abuse case will hold up in court without physical evidence. Your he said/ she said situation would be thrown out unless a credible grown-up witness were to come forward.
Your boyfriend doesn't count as credible.

They can get in to trouble. you should try to report it to a child abuse protector. Did your father hit you before? If he did you must go police again. No one has the right to hit anyone even if they are their parents. Its not right. You must connect somone other than police. Like any other adult that might help you. Like school cansoler.
