wow, so they cut through your abdomial wall right? tell them that cutting throguh the abdominal muscles takes a long time to heal and is extremely painful. everything you do from breathing to sitting up straight is putting stress on those cut muscles. you will be in pain for a while but if its so severe you cannot tolerate it you need to go to the doctor and explore your options there. there are pain medications you can get on such as toradol that are not opiod based and you will not develope an addiction as readily as say vicodin. tell them you have every right to still be in pain. in nursing we have a saying "pain is what the person says it is." if none of this works tell them to shove it! good luck hunny, i hope everything works out well!

So sorry you had to go through with all this. The pain is somewhat normal even now. It take a good 6 to 8 weeks to heal from your surgery. Make a list of all your discomforts to talk about with your doctor before your appt. If you are unable to do much of anything pysically, you probably should call your doctor now and ask if this is normal. He may want to see you sooner.

its perfectly normal to be in pain at 4 weeks. in fact you will still be having some pain, although milder for about the first 4 months. things do start getting better around the 6th week. do a lot of walking, at your own pace. the more you move the faster the pain will go away, but dont over do it and dont lift anything you shouldnt be lifting. i'm 8 months past mine and i still occasionally get twinges of pain. nothing bad, nothing that requires a pill, but i know its there. Good luck!

I also had a total hyst..People heal at different paces...It can take up to 8-10 weeks to be fully back to normal...Take it at you own pace, everyday will get more easier..And the emotions are also normal even though you are on the hormones your body is still all out of wack and is in total chaos...That too will get better....You will find over time you will get to the point of normal and life will go on...I had a horrible experience with mine, wouldn't wish it on anyone...But i have found i feel much better since having it done..please feel free to email me if you have anymore questions....doreencooper8771@.....

Are you passing blood through your vagina? What has your doctor said about this? Ask your Dr if he would be willing to put you on a medication called neurontin. This drug has been proven to help women with hot flashes. You need to talk to your Dr ASAP about this pain.
