I am the perfect person to ask because I gained too much weight with all three of my pregnancies! Over 80 lbs with my first, 60lbs with my second and almost 50 with my third. Now, to my credit, I had preeclampsia with my first and high bp with the other two. But, to be honest, even if you take away the water weight from the swelling, I still gained too much. Some people are just prone to put on more weight than the average woman does during pregnancy. You may be one of them. As long as you and your baby are healthy, I wouldn't worry about that now. You'll have plenty of time after the baby is born to deal with the weight. Good Luck and Congratulations!

For 39 weeks and gaining 70 pounds that's pretty good. But no weight is ever to much, you can only have to little weight gained during pregnancy. It also depends on what you're having. (Twins, Triplets etc.) It can also depends on the baby. Some babies that I have know have been born 10 and 11 pounds! So don't worry about all the weight you've gained (and will continue gaining) until the end of your pregnancy. You can always work all the extra weight off AFTER your pregnancy to hopefully get back into the shape you were in before you had the baby(s) Good luck!!

At 39 weeks I wouldn't worry about the weight - you're almost there. I gained 72 lbs. (OMG! - ha!) with my son - it was a lot of weight, but I lost all of it. I gained like 50-60 (OMG again!) something with my daughter and I lost it all, also. Like I said, you're on the home stretch - now is not the time to worry about weight. If anything, go ahead and gain a few more lbs. Since you are where you are, take advantage of this time - because you'll be expected to lose most of it after the baby. I like the saying "it took 9 months to gain, it should take 9 months (or more - added by me) to lose!"

It depends on what your weight was before you got pregnant. Most docs recommend you gain between 20 and 30 pounds, 30 if you were underweight before and 20 if you were a little over and normal weight. I weighed what I was supposed to for my height and frame size last time I was pregnant and gained 40 pounds. I was told after I'd gained 30 pounds that I needed to watch my weight and not gain anymore. I've heard of people gaining as much as 100 pounds. Like I said it all depends on your pre-pregnancy size.

Normally people gain anywhere between 30-40 pounds but it depends on your size. Ask your doctor if you have gained too much weight and also ask what kind of diet and exercise you should be on after birth to help you lose the weight.

29 lb is the typical advocated weight attain for the duration of being pregnant. You are doing best! Beyond the 25-35 lb that's advocated (furnished you're now not chubby to begin with), your weight attain has little to do with little one's delivery weight. Besides, greater than eight lb, you're watching at a skills C-segment. I received a whole 50 lb. Towards the tip my OB instructed I minimize on delicate carbs like rice and candy culmination like grapes and melons. I had a 7 hour hard work and popped him out readily. My son was once born 7 lb five oz., very healthful. But 7 months after supply, I am chubby. I have misplaced 20 lb (I'm breastfeeding), nonetheless 30 to move. Looking ahead, I plan to attain 30 lb for the moment little one. I suspect you acquired wiser after your fifty five lb attain as good. 30 lb is best, wish you're going to have a distinguished supply and healthful little one.
