and if you do are you black or white. Do you think it is anything wrong with whipping your kids. I'm not racist. and if your wondering I'm black and I would whip my kids butt but not all the time I would use timeout sometimes for minor things.

No. I spanked once or twice, when I felt they really needed to remember something, such as when my daughter ran out in the street.

White, and I don't think a stern hand on the stern side of an unruly child is wrong. It should only be a last resort, we do Time-outs first but if the fit continues for 5 minutes my 2 1/2 year old is going to get his *** cracked and sat on it. Discipline is something that is missing from our children these days, I'm 38 now and if I ever acted like some do today, MAN. I don't want to think about that.

I don't have kids, but my mother whipped me. She's as white as they come, but my father was Native if that means anything in this case. He didn't mete out punishment though, that's what the mother or uncles do in Cherokee culture, so my Irish mom did.

Venom is right. That's a deep olive, almost a caramel. If that's white, then I'm the Queen of England.

I dont have kids and wont have them till i get married but i would whip them if they did something wrong. I was whipped by my parents but never seriously hurt. The whipping is never meant to hurt a child physically but just as a light reminder of the seriousness of what he did wrong but it should be a last resort not a first one and u should never whip out of anger but out of love for your children.

I have only spanked my kids when they have done something that effects life and limb.

1. running out into the street
2. climbing out onto the porch roof from bedroom window (to get a ball! They didn't want to wait til dad could get home & get it.)
3. jumping off the top bunkbed (something to do with the Toystory movie they had just seen)
4. climbing up kitchen cabinates. (Just because it was there?!)

the rest of the time we use time-outs, standing in a corner, sitting on the stairs, and as they get older taking away privliges & extras. I think you need a buch of different types of punishments...one does not fit all.

I don't think it is ok to whip your kids....

My voice is enough to convince my little one that he is doing wrong. I believe that people who whip their kids have a lack of creativity when it comes to discipline.

Spanking your kid should be a last resort.....and it should never be done out of anger. The law states that ANY corporal injury left on the child, however slight, is a crime and is punishable by a wobbler (Misdemeanor/Felony) depending on the severity of the injury.

I'm not racist either....just the facts...

I'd rather have my kids behave because I ask them to not because I threaten them. I don't want them fearing me.

Whipping?! Yes, it's wrong! I swat my son on the bottom once in a while but I don't have to do it very often. I don't believe that it should be done often nor do I believe that it's useful if done often. I'm White and Christian.

That's how I was desciplined as a kid and I turned out just fine. But I prefer to use the timeout method, or taking away privledges.(tv,games, friends)

No. I warn him and let him expereince the consequnces of his own actions. fi its something he wont understand I take him out of that situation. Easier to conrtol environment than behavior, and he will get eh message that way eventually.

Im white but im the first in my family who dosent use corporal punishment. And my husband is black/puerto rican and were on the same page if that matters.

I'm don't have any kids. But growing up, my mother whooped me and my siblings. And personally, I think that's one of the reasons we know how to act today. My best friend, whom I love, never got whooped, but she acted out like nobody's business! To this day, she'll cuss her mother out to her face.

Hah! I'm grown, but I'm still scared if I even say "damn" around my mom, she'll whip out that belt, and tear my behind up! (lol)

...and I'm black, btw.
