"rapper's delight" by sugarhill gang (the world's first true rap song and the guys who coined the word "hiphop")
"the message" by grandmast flash (world's first rap song with a social meaning. flash was the original ganster)
"walk this way" run dmc. (rap's first great crossover song. they just rock this one. run dmc were the kings of rock, there was none higher. sucka mc's called them sire)

if not for these 3 songs alone..........hip hop wouldn't be anything. i think most rappers would agree.
