I made a really bad choice that will never happen again, Attention was drawn to my house after the neighbor guys were out drinking my kids weren't in the house and make a long story short I got a drug abuse, drug pairphanplia, a misdemeanor child endangerment. My ex husband has been waiting for me to screw up. I have never been in trouble for anything, I'm trying to be a good parent. Will the courts look past this incedent.

It will depend greatly on a number of other factors not indicated, such as:

- What the drug(s) were and the amount of the drug(s)

- Who the Judge in the Custody Hearing is and his views and interpretation of the laws.

- Were you just charged with the above charge or have already plead guilty or been convicted of them. (If you have just been charged, a good criminal defense attorney could likely get one or more of the charges dropped or reduced in exchange for a plea agreement where you would plead guilty to lesser charges).

- Whether your ex-husband has a clean record.

- Whether your ex-husband has a stable job and home life.

well, with child endangerment due to drugs there is very little chance that you will be able to get custody, no matter how much you plead and beg for a second chance and claim that it will never happen again

unless your ex has a dirtier current child neglect record than you, you should probably settle for visitations and be nice and civil about it

Those are some pretty hefty offenses and it is unlikely they will be kindly overlooked.
