I was in my biology class when the teacher asked us this question "what are humans". This boy answered animals and the teacher said that was right, but I said no were not animals and everybody looked at me like I was stupid. Then the boy said "were warm blooded which makes us mammals and mammals are animals so were animals too". I really dont know why were animals because I dont think were animals. So if somebody can clear this up for me.

We are animals with reason (sometimes). There is nothing wrong being animals. Humans are a type of animal.

We are too animals. I agree with the boy in your class. We are warm blooded, and mammals.
We're just a species of animal, like dogs have different varieties, cats have different varieties, and humans have different varieties.

And we sure do act like animals at times.

Under the system of classification we have in biology (this is what you are taking)..yes we are animals. Classifications are just a way of organizing facts..and we do fit in the category quite well. You can keep your spiritual beliefs that involve non-physical characteristics of the human (spirit, soul) and still study the science of biology..a physical science.

Biology classifies humans as animals plus Evolution concludes humans are descended from animals. But to think of somebody you love, special in your life as animal is maybe somewhat not agreeable.

Humans emotional capacity like love, the unconditional concern for others defies Evolution.I think humans are not just animals.

Yes, honey, you are an animal, but that needs make you proud, not ashamed. There is no reason, but misplaced pride, to say humans are not animals. Ecolink gave you the taxonomic run-down.
