Eccentric refers to odd or peculiar behavior. The term is usually applied toward wealthy people who can afford to be somewhat unusual or different from everybody else. An example of eccentric would be: Even though his house is fully wired and has electricity and light fixtures, he still uses kerosene lanterns at night.

In properly-known utilization, eccentricity refers to unusual or odd habit on the area of a individual. This habit could in many cases be perceived as unusual or unnecessary, without being demonstrably maladaptive. Eccentricity is contrasted with "ordinary" habit, the almost known potential by technique of which persons in society be sure given issues and pursue particular priorities in on a daily basis existence. if you continuously reveal benignly eccentric habit, there's a label: "eccentrics".
