The Apple II microcomputer, introduced in 1977, was a hit with home users. In 1983, Apple introduced the Lisa, the first commercial personal computer to employ a graphical user interface (GUI), which was influenced in part by the Xerox Alto. Lisa was also the first personal computer to have the mouse. In 1984, the Macintosh was introduced, furthering the concept of a user-friendly graphical user interface. Apple's success with the Macintosh became a major influence in the development of graphical interfaces elsewhere, with major computer operating systems such as Commodore Amiga, and Atari ST, appearing on the market within two years of the introduction of the Macintosh.
In 1991, Apple introduced the PowerBook line of portable computers. The 1990s also saw Apple's market share fall as competition from Microsoft Windows and the comparatively inexpensive IBM PC compatible computers that would eventually dominate the market. In the 2000s, Apple expanded its focus on software to include professional and prosumer video, music, and photo production solutions, with a view to promoting their products as a "digital hub". It also introduced the iPod, the most popular digital music player in the world.

Apple made a big blunder when they tried to focus on controlling everything that went into their computers, while Bill Gates made sure whatever he made went into every computer. Now, Gates is the richest person in the world, and Apple is thankful that the Beatles no longer can prevent them from selling music, but is not taken seriously by anyone that needs a computer to do something important.

Apple released it's first computer in I believe 1976. It started after Steve Jobs visited some place where they had a Xerox computer with a graphical user interface meaning something somewhere user friendly (back in the day you would have to use DOS or something similar to navigate or computer). He was inspired by this and build the Apple Lisa.

It in certainty relies upon on your finances and what you elect to do with it. in case you're only seeking to browse the internet, watch some movies, and look at some eBooks then i might get an iPad. in case you elect to play some easily video games, frequently write essays for college, and greater extensive use then i might get a workstation. pills like the iPad are actually not pc replacements, yet. they are very constrained in what they are able to do, and have no actual keyboard which will make it confusing to variety for long classes of time. in case you needed a sort of mixture between a workstation and a pill, i might extraordinarily advise the ASUS top which will pop out in some days. It has the processing skill of a working laptop or pc with its Quad middle processor (two times as many an and iPad2 or 4 cases as an iPad1), it runs the latest version of Android which will make issues slightly much less complicated in case you're a student because of the fact it facilitates you to connect records to emails, browse records like on a working laptop or pc, and upload records like a working laptop or pc (I unquestionably have many cases uploaded a final minute essay or homework project to my college's on line "dropbox" using my Android telephone which i could not do with my iPhone 4S) and here comes the workstation mixture, it has an optionally available keyboard dock which will fold up and make it appear as if a workstation. The keyboard dock will additionally upload approximately 6 hours of battery existence making it approximately 18 hours entire. and because this could be a pill, it particularly is going to be very very gentle and skinny. And, you ought to do away with the keyboard in case you ever in basic terms had to apply the pill itself. i might take a seem at it in case you needed a compromise.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL, LSE: ACP, FWB: APC) is an American consumer electronics corporation with worldwide annual sales in its fiscal year 2006 (ending September 30, 2006) of US$19.3 billion.[3] Headquartered in Cupertino, California, Apple develops, sells, and supports a series of personal computers, portable media players, computer software, and computer hardware accessories. The company's best-known products include the Mac line of personal computers, its Mac OS X operating system, and the iPod line of portable media players. For the iPod and its related iTunes software, Apple sells audiobooks, games, music, music videos, TV shows,[4] and movies in its online iTunes Store.
The company was known as Apple Computer, Inc. for its first 30 years of existence, but dropped "Computer" from its corporate name on January 9, 2007.[5] The name change, which followed Apple's announcement of its new iPhone smartphone and Apple TV digital video system, is representative of the company's ongoing expansion into the consumer electronics market in addition to its traditional focus on personal computers.[6]
Apple operates over 170 retail stores in the United States, Canada, Japan and the United Kingdom.[7] The stores carry most of Apple's products as well as many third-party products and offer on-site support and repair for Apple hardware and software. Apple employs over 20,000 permanent and temporary workers worldwide.[8]
For a variety of reasons, ranging from its philosophy of comprehensive aesthetic design to its countercultural, even indie roots, as well as their advertising campaigns, Apple has engendered a distinct reputation in the consumer electronics industry, and has cultivated a customer base that is unusually devoted to the company and its brand.[9]
