These are some quotes from wikipedia concerning this subject.

"Totally Spies is a French anime-influenced animated television series produced by the French company Marathon Production."

"Totally Spies is sometimes described as "American" (despite being produced in Europe) due to its use of well-known visual gags and cues, as well as its Southern California setting. It also has a strong shojo influence. "

"The series also features Japanese animation style. The characters are drawn with the big eyes. Anime gags are used such as the sweat drop, crossed vein, and other the face faults."

To put it simple, Totally Spies is a anime-influenced animation. The following quote also explains this.

"Anime-influenced animation refers to non-Japanese works of animation that emulate the visual style of anime. Though most of these works are created by and primarily shown in the United States, many also involve production studios from Europe and non-Japanese Asia; for example, one recent series, Totally Spies!, is made by French company Marathon. "

Hope that helped.

It's not an authentic Japanese anime. But (yes, I am an Otaku, so someone will probably kick my butt when I say this) technically, it is an anime -- just of the American... I mean French variety. "Anime" is just the Japanese abbreviation for "animation."

By the way, I love that "Totally Spies" show!

It's not animation, I looked at it, It doesn't have manga eyes, face, and besides the shape of it isn't like other manga, and the eyes are not like other animation, so the other one was right, Totally Spies is not an animation

Actually, if u notice japansese anime like yugioh, pokemon and other, their mouths go up and down. When they do a "O" sound, doesn't really show they're pronoucing the 'o'- more like a "Ahh" all the time. Totally Spies, Teen Titans, Ben 10 are American anime, which they can prnounce the "o' and their alplhabet right. So they're American anime.

i'm completely straight, but i kinda miss that show. reminds me of the song valley girl by frank zappa. sometimes the situations they end up in are downright halarious, the plotholes are good for a few laughs, and the "gadgets" they use are completely unrealistic, nothing about that show can be used in real life, it's the anti mcgyver! my girlfriend turned me on to that show, i like it but i'm not hooked on it. i would tell you about her fantasy involving those suits they wear but that's just plain unnessecary for yahoo. yeah it's an anime inspired french cartoon that takes place with th 3 girls living in beverly hills. lol what a show
