I buy a large Coffee here in Sevierville, Tennessee everyday and it is $1.31 including the 9.5% sales tax here... if that helps. I went to L.A. back in Feb., but I did not get a regular coffee, they had cappuccinos and I tried that when I was there... but the other prices of menu stuff seemed a little bit higher to me, but the tax was less.

NYC suburbs it runs 99¢ to $1.29 for a small. On the Thruway it was $1.39 the last time I checked for a small.
The double cheeseburger hasn't been on the $1 menu for years here. Used to be $1.39, then $1.59 and now it is $1.69.
McD's prices are going up every few weeks for most items here.
