Hi Dawn, it would be in anyone's best interest to fully investigate any charity organisations, especially in Nigeria though. I know of a few people who have just recently been scammed through what appeared to be very legal companies.
It's such a pity though when people with good intentions have to do so with so much suspicion, and, the children in these countries really suffer because authorities cannot be trusted.
Good luck though, you are interested in doing good and I wish you well. By the way, Oprah has just opened a school for underpriviledged kids in South Africa. Maybe her website can help you on this issue.

look, sweetie, i visit objective and say this in the nicest way there is: one million/2 of Africa's issues arises from charity. Africa is an addict to it. Corrupt governments count on distant places help and charity artwork to maintain them in power (could you ever learn how to freshen up your individual back backyard if all and sundry and their cousin Jack grew to become into continuously keen to do it?). Africa is a disaster section not because of the fact of colonialism, yet of each and all of the blithering tries to mollycoddle the subject concerns led to via the "liberation" strikes. purely such as you're making plans to do. perhaps you will desire to look to help somebody slightly closer to domicile first? you're much less likelier to go through the sentiments of disillusionment and helplessness that maximum "fixers" who got here to Africa finally be afflicted by; it is likewise much less probably which you are going to be used for some scumbag's political time table.
